Private practice outside of your driving lessons is a really useful way of gaining greater experience and potentially reducing the time it takes to pass your test. If you have access to a suitable vehicle and can persuade its owner that it's a good idea (note to parents: I am always available for help and advice!) then there are a whole host of insurance companies providing policies for learner drivers, from single days to whole year policies.
